We then decided to do the Astronomer’s badge which took in a visit to Greenwich Observatory. After that we all did the Home help badge, we cooked a simple meal cleaned the silver and all cubs had to help at home over a two week period. To finish of the badge we all sewed the badge onto our uniform!

After the Easter break, Waingunga had a fun evening based on the television programme the Cube, we then had a tower and catapult night which took in some mini pioneering and as the tower were built of marshmallows we had fun eating and building!!

We all took part in St. George’s day parade.

Apart from the leaders turning grey it all went well and the Cubs all got their chefs badge.  We also had a day at Farningham woods for Be a Cub day some of our younger cubs join in with the older Beavers from our district and took part in scouting activities, this year we made ropes, cooked did a nature trail, a string trail, fire lighting and went over a rope bridge all great fun.

June and we helped out with a stall at the Churches fete, we had an evening putting up tents and some of us went on a fun day to Gilwell Park. Gilwell was a whole day of scouting fun, Cubs were able to try grass sledging, water bombs, a 3G Swing, inflatables, circus skills and they had fun with Lego and K’nex.

Saturday after breakfast of Waffles we went off to do Archery and the Zip wire we also made ropes and soap carvings, the Cubs also made Knickerbocker glory’s for pudding.

Saturday night and we were able to skype and talk to someone in Texas which was great fun and then we had a traditional camp fire with lots of singing.

Sunday and we did a spot of trampolining and the adventure course which worked up a good appetite for an American Burger lunch.

We finished July of with some outdoor pioneering fun and a games night. September and after a nice summer break we started back with some craft’s nights and a walk around local area  we also had a coffee night for the McMillan Nurses and raised £110 which was great we are now starting our art badge.
